Meet Renaldo Wilmoth – Life Treatment Centers' not-so-secret POWERHOUSE!

Some individuals dedicate their lives to service, not for recognition, but because it is simply who they are. Renaldo is one such individual. For decades, he has been a beacon of hope, not only at Life Treatment Centers (LTC) but throughout South Bend, profoundly impacting the lives of veterans, children, families, and those in need through his unwavering dedication and compassion.

As a Marine Corps veteran, Renaldo exemplifies the values of honor, courage, and commitment well beyond his military service. His years at LTC have been marked by a steadfast devotion to veterans, ensuring they have access to employment opportunities, medical care, and the benefits they have rightfully earned. His advocacy and support for those who have served our country have never wavered.

Renaldo’s journey with Life Treatment Centers began 22 years ago as a part-time commitment while he was simultaneously building a distinguished 30-year career at Indiana’s Department of Child Services (DCS). His dedication to protecting and uplifting children and families did not go unnoticed—upon his retirement, he was honored with a plaque from the Governor in recognition of his service.

His passion for supporting future generations extended beyond his professional career. Renaldo was personally invited to volunteer with the Freedom 22 Foundation, where he played a pivotal role in securing annual tuition assistance for over 200 families, ensuring children received access to quality education. His service at the Juvenile Justice Center spanned 13 years, earning him the Volunteer of the Year award in 2003. Additionally, he spent eight years coaching a Christian youth basketball team at the King Center, mentoring young athletes and instilling in them values of discipline and perseverance.

Renaldo’s commitment to community service did not stop there. He has actively worked with organizations supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, including the Hope Rescue Mission, the Center for the Homeless, and the YWCA. His dedication also extended to his church, where he assisted seniors and volunteered at the food pantry.

Recognized for his leadership, Renaldo was sworn in by Mayor Stephen Luecke to serve on the Indiana Commission for the Social Status of African American Males. Additionally, his work with the Pathfinder Group contributed to South Bend's success in earning the All-America City title in 2011, a testament to his belief in the city’s resilience and potential.

Despite his numerous accomplishments, Renaldo's greatest pride is his family. Alongside his wife, he has raised three of his four children in South Bend, instilling in them the same values of service, integrity, and love for the community that have defined his life.

Life Treatment Centers and the entire South Bend community are undoubtedly better because of Renaldo. His enduring impact is a testament to the power of selfless service and an inspiration to all.
